Lemon Tree Hotels has opened its 61-room property to visitors in Coimbatore.

Developed at a cost of about ₹35 crore at Kalapatti, the hotel has a 24x7 multi-cuisine coffee shop (Citrus Cafe), recreation bar (Slounge), a conference room, gym and an outdoor swimming pool.

Rattan Keswani, Deputy Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels, and Director at Carnation Hotels, told presspersons here on Friday that the mid-scale hotel is the third one in the State for Lemon Tree. It runs two hotels in Chennai.

In Coimbatore, the hotel was developed by Lakshana Consultants and Hoteliers and will be managed by Carnation Hotels, the hotel management arm of Lemon Tree Hotels.

Though it will take a few months to stabilise, the hotel will look at an occupancy rate of about 65 % in a reasonably short time, said Mr. Keswani. With growing domestic travellers, 90 % of Lemon Tree’s guests are Indians. Across its brands (Lemon Tree, Lemon Tree Premier and Redfox), the group has occupancy averaging at 76 %.

Vijayakumhar, director of Lakshana Consultants, has said in a press release that the hotel is located close to the airport and IT parks and the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex. “Being a progressive industrial district and the second largest software producer in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore has great business potential and much needed a brand like Lemon Tree,” he said.
