Exhibiting an awesome collection of value-added yarns, fabrics, embellishments, home textiles and garment accessories from different parts of the globe, the sixth edition of the three-day ‘Yarnex’ international exhibition began at the India Knit Fair complex here on Tuesday.

A total of 86 companies from India and abroad are displaying their products at the exhibition, organised by S. S. Textile Media Private Limited. The event had been acting as a one-stop destination for the garment producers to source essential raw materials like yarn, fabrics and embellishments that could give value-addition to the apparels.

“It is for this good response from the garment manufacturers, the sellers have shown repeated interest in participating in the exhibition every year. Around 80 per cent of the stalls for the next edition, scheduled for September 2015, have already been booked in advance,” told P. Krishnamurthy, managing director of S. S. Textile Media Private Limited.

In the midst of private companies, the exquisitely designed stall of a government firm that came all the way from Gujarat stood out in the fair.

Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited had not exhibited some of the routine yarns but came up with newly developed innovative products like Nylon 6 yarns for providing secondary fibre reinforcement in reinforced cement concrete and plastic cement concrete structures, in the construction industry.

The officials admitted that there is only a “scattered” presence of their products in Tirupur cluster at the moment and hence, the participation in the event was expected to increase the market reach.
