House owner arrested for rape of seven-year-old girl

The Pollachi All Woman Police arrested a 65-year-old man on Thursday for allegedly raping the seven-year-old daughter of his tenant.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Pollachi Sub Division M. Meenakshi said that the girl was studying Class II and lived with her parents in the ground floor of the house of A. Ramakrishnan at A.Sangampalayam Colony in Pollachi.

It is learnt that the accused had the practice of taking the girl to his house.

On Thursday morning, the accused took the child with him.

After sometime, her aunt, who went to bring the girl back home, reportedly saw him sexually abusing her.

On questioning the girl, her family learnt that the man had been repeatedly abusing her on quite a few occasions.

According to the police, Ramakrishnan’s wife had gone to the shop on Thursday when the man was caught abusing the girl.

The victim’s parents lodged a complaint with the Pollachi East Police.

The Pollachi All Woman Police registered a case against the man under Sections 5(l), 5(m) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him.

Medical examination

The girl was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment.
