Four booked for kidnap in Coimbatore

The Coimbatore City Police has booked four persons on charges of kidnapping a person over business rivalry.

According to the police, Pandiyarajan was involved in running a call taxi business in the city. However, a business rivalry broke out between him and R. Sampath (23) of Ganapathy over the call taxi business.

Following this, Padiyarajan had allegedly roped in three others and had kidnapped Sampath while he walking along the Sanganoor Road around 11.30 p.m. on Sunday. Padiyarajan had allegedly assaulted Sampath and confined him in a room. He was later let off.

Based on a complaint by Sampath, the Saravanampatty Police on Wednesday registered a case. . Further investigations are on.
