The police have registered cases against a Village Administrative Officer, and a tahsildar for forging land documents.
The police said that Dhanaseelan, VAO of Sikkadasampalayam, and Kumar, tahasildar, Mettupalayam, helped Amutha Seelan of Sikkadasampalayam to take possession of a piece of land belonging to M. Vijayalakshmi of Sundarapuram, near Mettupalayam.
Sections 420 (cheating), 463 (forgery, with intent to cause damage or injury], 465 (forgery), 467 (Forgery of valuable security), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 472 (making or possessing counterfeit seal) and 120 (b)(punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code have been invoked.
