Finance firm owner booked for intercepting ambulance

Police have registered a case against a finance firm owner Vignesh (40) of Koil Medu on charges of denying right of way for an ambulance and intercepting it for the purpose of picking a quarrel with the ambulance driver on Monday.

According to police, Vinod Babu (29) driver of an ambulance, was rushing a patient to a hospital.

When the ambulance was crossing the Nallampalayam area on Mettuppalayam Road, a motorcyclist continuously kept blocking the way for the ambulance.

At one point in time, the motorcyclist parked his vehicle in front of the ambulance.

When Vinod Babu questioned the motorcyclist for blocking the ambulance, Vignesh reportedly abused the ambulance driver for switching on a blaring siren and irritating fellow road users.

Emergency

When, the ambulance driver explained the emergency, the motorcyclist is said to have accused ambulance drivers of using sirens even when the vehicle was empty, with no patient inside.

Based on a complaint, police have registered a case of preventing a person from discharging duty, causing hurt and criminal intimidation against Vignesh.
