Employee booked for cheating hospital

Podanur Police registered a case against a hospital employee for allegedly forging signatures of the owner of a private hospital at Sundarapuram and usurping money to the tune of Rs. 3.8 lakh.

It is learnt that accused A. Rajesh (35) of Sakthi Nagar in Mettupalayam joined the hospital on June 6.

According to the police, he was in-charge of the hospital transactions and had stolen three blank cheques, forged the signature of the hospital owner D.S. Subramaniyam and made transactions using two of the cheques.

He was booked under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) and 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or a servant) of the Indian Penal Code, based on a complaint preferred by Subramaniyam. Inquiries are underway.

Tangedco office burgled

Unidentified persons reportedly gained entry to the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation office at Kathampatty, near Negamam, on Saturday using a duplicate key.

It is learnt that a few electrical parts and wire worth several thousand rupees were missing when the staff opened the office on Saturday.

Case registered

A case was registered under sections 457 (lurking house trespass or house-breaking at night in order to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment) and 380 (theft in a dwelling place) of the Indian Penal Code.
