The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions has simplified the process and procedures with regard to defence recruitment rallies, according to a release.

As per the latest decision, candidates seeking enlistment into the defence forces henceforth need to just file one comprehensive affidavit and the number of documents that need to be attached has also been reduced to just eight.

Till date, the candidates were expected to file separate affidavits for every document and were asked to furnish more documents, which proved the recruitment rally process very laborious and unfriendly.

Abolition of affidavits

The new process brings in abolition of affidavits and adoption of self-certification bringing down the time taken at recruitment rallies.

Henceforth, there will be one comprehensive affidavit encompassing caste, educational qualification, board of education, date of birth, heir of ex-servicemen and others.
