July 20, 2014 08:43 am | Updated 08:45 am IST - COIMBATORE:

If someone tampers with an ATM, an alarm goes off and alerts are sent to the mobile numbers of banks.

With banks looking at various models to provide 24 X 7 security to ATMs, Coimbatore-based Sinta Systems has developed a security system.

According to D. Radhakrishnan, who is part of the team that has developed the system, when someone tampers with an ATM, the door to the ATM will come down automatically.

An alarm goes off and alerts are sent to the mobile numbers of three officials of a bank.

The alert includes details of the location of the ATM. The system includes a GSM modem installed in the ATM room, a hidden camera, and a vibration sensor. The system can be modified according to the banks’ requirements.

Coimbatore District Lead Bank Manager K. Krishnamoorthy says security for ATMs is decided by each bank and most of them outsource such services.
