The widespread rainfall received on Yercaud hills has led to the overflowing of various check dams.

The Yercaud hill station experienced sharp showers on Thursday night, leading to heavy flow of water into the channel leading to the Puthuyeri lake at Kannankurichi in the city.

Due to the repeated failure of monsoon, the water springs in different parts of Yercaud had gone dry. With Thursday night’s rainfall, all the springs overflowed. The fields too were inundated in the rainfall.
