New facility

Amway India has opened an express pick-up centre in Hosur. The new facility will be similar to a ‘mini shopping centre’. It will give an opportunity to the Amway distributors to touch and feel the products offered by Amway and purchase them over the counter, said Sujoy Bose, vice-president - South, Amway India.

Santhosham 2016

The annual district Conference for the Rotary Year 2015-16 of Rotary International District 3201 will be held at Hotel Le Merdidian, Coimbatore on February 13 and 14. The conference will deliberate on present and future service projects of Rotary to enable clubs enhance their service activities. Nearly 2000 Rotarians and their families from all over the district will be attending the conference.

K.V. Chowdary, Chief Vigilance Comminsioner, will be the chief guest.

Pride of Coimbatore Award will be presented to M. Krishnan, chairman of Krishna Sweets.

Krishnakumar Varrier, chancellor of Avinashilingam University will be honoured for his contribution to the society.

Humanitarian service award will be presented to B. Balchand. Eight Rotarians who have served the society for over 50 years through the Rotary movement will be honoured.

CSR programme

State Bank of India has adopted Thunneri Village in the Nilgiris district under its Corporate Social Responsible Activity for development activities like construction of roads, toilets, Wi-Fi Centre, library, sports equipments etc. B. Ramesh Babu, Chief General Manager of SBI - Chennai circle, handed over the sanctioned letter of Rs. 24.85 lakhs to Kavitha, Project Director of DRDA, for this particular venture.
