Boy rescued at railway station

A 12-year-old boy from Delhi who was straying at the Coimbatore Junction was rescued by the anti-human trafficking police and child welfare officer on Monday.

It is learnt that the boy was from a poverty-struck family and that he went to school till third standard, before he went to Vijayawada.

He worked in a bag-making factory at Vijayawada from where he came to Coimbatore by train, a couple of days ago as he could not bear harassment by his employer. The boy was taken to the Don Bosco Anbu Illam for temporary shelter. He will be produced before Child Welfare Committee for deciding on his rehabilitation.
