Explaining the selection process, the Colonel said that it would start with documentation, physical fitness test, physical measurements, and end with a medical test.

Those who clear in all these will be called for a written test to be held on February 2, 2014, in Coimbatore.

Following this the merit list will be published and recruits will be sent to the various training centres.

Expressing happiness over the response shown by youth from the districts, the Colonel said that there was no specific number that the Army was looking at in terms of selection.

The response was due to the quality of life the Army provided, he said.

Candidates who have passed Standard X and Plus-Two and meeting the required eligibility criteria are attending the rally.
