Aero show enthrals audience

Visitors looking at an aircraft model at the Aeroplus 2017 and Summer Carnival event conducted by the Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences.

Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences recently conducted a three-day Aeroplus 2017 and Summer Carnival. A release from the college said that visitors were surprised to be close and feel helicopters and small aeroplanes.

G. Prakash Reddy, Airport Director, Coimbatore International Airport, inaugurated the exhibition. He spoke about the growth in the aviation industry and the Central Government’s initiatives to develop aviation infrastructure in the country.

The Government was trying to improve air connectivity to Salem, Puducherry and a few other cities. This could go further if the State Government was ready to help more, the release quoted him.

S. Sebastian, Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Qatar Airways, who was the guest of honour also addressed the gathering. P. Krishnadas, managing trustee, Nehru Group of Institutions, presided over the inauguration. The college flew Thunder Taker Rapter 50, a small helicopter, to enthral the audience, the release said. The students had developed a chuck glider that sold for a small sum to visitors. The event also showcased Hawker 1A aircraft, Beach Craft, King Air C 90, Cesna 150 D and many more aircraft.
