Spell bee competition conducted

Win National Spell Bee on Sunday conducted the State Grand Finale 2015-16 in the city. A release said that as many as 324 students from various districts in the State participated. The organisers had grouped the students into six categories – lower and upper kindergarten, first and second standards, third and fourth standards, fifth and sixth standards, seventh and eighth standards, and ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th standards.

The organisers said that the students competed in two rounds and in each level. Prizes were distributed by Vijayalakshmi Rajendran, British Council Trained Trainer, Director - Pranavam Academy and A. Sanbahavalli, Principal of Hindustan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and C.S. Ramesh, Director of KVA Skills Academy. Prize winners in different categories in the order of first, second and third are as follows:

Category one: B. Krishikeshrag of SSVM WORLD School, K.N. Nikhil Bhoopathy of Mount Litera Zee School, Trichy, and M. Krishnan of SSVM World School, Coimbatore.

Category two: A. Rishika - Mount Litera Zee School, Trichy, S. Adharsh, SSVM World School, Coimbatore and K. Sathya Saravanan of Hindustan Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Category three: S. Siddharth - SSVM World School, Coimbatore, K. Gurugokul of Hindustan Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and M. Manu of SSVM World School.

Category four: R. Gokul Krishna - Venkatalakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, V.P. Rithani of VCV Shishu Vidhodaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and T. Barathraj of APG Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Category five: J. Akshaya of SSVM World School, Coimbatore, P. Kalyani of SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School, and C. Aneesur Rahman of Mount Litera Zee School, Trichy.

Category six: R. Mithran of Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School, R. Thenupriya of Mount Litera Zee School in Trichy, and K.K. Praarthana - Vijaya Vidhyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Top 10 students from the above categories are eligible for the national-level grand finale which will be held in December at Coimbatore.
