Silver jubilee reunion at Sainik School

As many as 60 alumni from the 1991 batch of Sainik School, Amaravathinagar, relived their past at the silver jubilee reunion recently.

Of them, 10 persons came all the way from the United States and west Asian nations to attend the event.

Among the alumni of the batch, 26 persons were now serving in Armed Forces. Popular film director R. T. Neason, who directed Vijay-starrer movie ‘Jilla’, attended the reunion function.

The alumni collectively constructed a shelter on the school premises at a cost of Rs. 7 lakh. The shelter was set up as an extension to the mess building so as to accommodate 600 cadets who attend the roll call before attending the mess. Group Captain T. N. Sridhar, principal of Sainik School, inaugurated the shelter.

The alumni also planted 500 saplings on the premises of the school.
