A pellet which got embedded in the eye of an eight-year old boy while playing with an air gun was removed by doctors of the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) here on Wednesday, without damaging his vision.

A four-member team of doctors, led by neuro-surgeon Balasubramanian, performed a surgery to remove the pellet from the eye of Silambarasan of Tiruchengode, about 120 km from here, CMCH Resident Medical Officer Dr. Sivaprakasam told reporters.

The boy was playing with the gun used for shooting birds when it went off accidentally three days ago, embedding a pellet in his left eye.
