Help the Govt. in free pumpset scheme, Minister asks pump industry

Tamil Nadu Rural Industries Minister Pongalur N Palanisamy today asked the pump and motor industry in the region to help the state government in implementing in its new scheme of providing free power efficient pumpsets to the farmers by producing quality motors.

The pump industry here should participate in the global tender and provide quality ISI marked pumps to the farmers, he said inaugurating the 12th edition of International Industrial Exhibition ‘INTEC—2010’

Chief minister M Karunanidhi had announced that the government would replace more than 19 lakh pumpsets so that 20 per cent energy could be saved, Mr. Palanisamy said.

The exhibition, where more than 400 stalls displaying new machineries, including those from Germany, Italy, Singapore, USA, would largely benefit the new entrepreneurs, which would be help the region for enhancing its status as industrial hub of the country, he said.
