Heavy rain in Coimbatore, The Nilgiris

Many parts of the district, and The Nilgiris received wide spread rainfall on Friday.

In Coimbatore district, Pollachi received a heavy rain.

The district in the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Friday witnessed 137.8 mm rainfall and the average rainfall stood at 11.48 mm.

Rainfall recorded in other parts of the district were: Mettuppalayam 1.4mm, Periyanaickenpalayam 1, TNAU 3.4, Chincona 30, Valparai PAP 26, Valparai taluk 30, and Coimbatore South 2mm.

There was heavy rush of tourists in Udhagamandalam.

The Nilgiris recorded 160.60 mm rainfall and the average stood at 9.45 mm.

Rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 a.m. on Friday: Upper Bhavani 25mm, Naduvattam 24, Avalanche 23, G Bazaar 11, K Bridge 12, Udhagamandalam 5.20, Kotagiri 7, Coonoor 2.40, Emerald 14, Geddai 8, Kinnakorai and Kodanadu 6 each, and Devala 6mm.
