Cash awards given to Corpn. school toppers

Chairman of the Coimbatore Corporation's South Zone, P. Pyntamil Pari on Tuesday presented cash awards to five HSLC top scorers and seven SSLC top scorers from Coimbatore Corporation schools on behalf of the Vijayalakshmi Palanisamy Charitable Trust.

In a press release issued here, Mr.Pari said that the trust had been organising various programmes for the last eight years.

Students who benefitted out of the trust performed well in entrance examinations and 87 students made it to law colleges and 53 students made it to engineering colleges.

J. Priyadarshini and A.M. Kavithra of Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School R.S. Puram West, who had scored 1,141 and 1,133 out of 1,200 respectively, R. Jayakodi and C. Archana of Oppanakkara Street Corporation Higher Secondary School who had scored 1,126 and 1,122 out of 1,200 and S. Suganya of Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School R.S. Puram West who had scored 1121/ 1,200 were given cash incentives to encourage them into higher education.

Similarly, K. Subathra and M. Revathy of Oppanakkara Street Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School who had scored 484 and 483 respectively out of 500, K. Sahana of Corporation SRP Higher Secondary School in R.S. Puram who scored 480 out of 500, S. Rani of Ramakrishnapuram Girls Higher Secondary School who had scored 479 out of 500, R. Malathi and P. Vennila of Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, R.S. Puram West and G. Prinka of Aranganathapuram Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School who had scored 478 each out of 500 were presented with cash awards.
