A python measuring nearly 12 feet was rescued from Thirumalaiyampalayam, about three km from Madukkarai on Sunday by Mother of All Snakes organisation.
According to the members, they received a call at around 7 a.m. informing that a python had entered a farm where goats and chicken were being reared. A four-member team from the organisation team reached the spot and rescued the snake at around 9 a.m. It was released later in the day near Sulakkarai after informing the Forests Department.
The team members were K. Santhosh Kumar, M. Kishore, K. Karthik and A.R. Ameen.

Mr. Santhosh said the age of the male snake was aroundfour-and-a-half years and was found to be healthy. “The python must have probably strayed down from the hills in search of food due to scarcity in its habitation and also to seek shelter from the searing summer heat,” he added.
