10 in fray for Nilgiris LS seat

The nominations of five candidates, including one from the Naam Tamilar Katchi, were rejected by the Returning Officer for Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency and District Collector, J. Innocent Divya.

Speaking to reporters here, Ms. Divya said that the nominations of ten persons – Ashok Kumar of the Bahujan Samaj Party, A. Raja (DMK), M. Thiyagarajan (AIADMK), N. Rajendran, P. Arumugam, M. Ramaswami, M. Subramani, A. Nagarajan, M. Rajarathinam and K. Raja (all independent candidates), were accepted after their documents were scrutinised.

The nominations of five candidates, including a candidate from the Naam Tamilar Katchi, S. Manimegalai, were rejected for various oversights when submitting their nominations, Ms. Divya added.
