Delhi Police on Friday said that it has not reached any conclusion as yet in the probe into the case of mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar nine months ago but remained evasive on whether her husband former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor will be questioned.
Officials have recently begun the investigation once again from scratch and several people, including the hotel’s staff where Sunanda was found dead and the personal staff of Mr. Tharoor, who was then a Union Minister, have been quizzed in recent days.
“Our inquest proceeding are pending because we have not reached any conclusion and it is very important for us to do every possible thing so that we can understand all the aspects and reach a conclusion. And to understand those circumstances, whatever needed, will be done,” said Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi.

Asked where the probe was headed and when would the viscera samples be sent abroad for forensic tests, Mr. Bassi said, “I would not like to go into the specifics, I would not like to discuss the nitty gritties but I would like to ensure you that whatever needed will be done in the case.”
“We would do whatever necessary to satisfy the curiosity that everyone has and also take the legal course in the case,” he added.
Asked whether Mr. Tharoor will be questioned in the case, Mr. Bassi said, “See, I don’t talk about future possibilities but whatever would be necessary I will do it.”

The Delhi Police Commissioner also asked people not to believe what all is being reported in the media and go by only what is being officially said.
Sources on Thursday had indicated that >police were considering sending the viscera samples to forensic laboratories abroad to determine the type of poison that is suspected to have caused her death.
The AIIMS medical board had, in its second report submitted to police recently, >confirmed poisoning as the reason behind her death but did not mention the type of poison that caused her death.
As of now, the police have asked the AIIMS panel of doctors to redo their investigation and name the poison which caused Sunanda Pushkar’s death but if it fails to do so, the samples will then be sent abroad.
The three mobile phones and a laptop of Sunanda have already been sent for forensic investigations to check whether anything was deleted from the gadgets post her death.
Recently, police had also re-examined suite number 345 of Leela Palace Hotel, where Ms. Pushkar was found dead in January.
Police had also called upon the AIIMS doctors and experts from FSL to inspect the room during which fluid marks were found on Sunanda’s bed sheet and the carpet along with a broken glass in the room. These articles have also been sent for forensic examination.
The suite of the five star hotel had remained sealed and was opened for the first time since the incident.
Police had also got information regarding Ms. Pushkar’s twin email accounts from Yahoo and Google with details of whom she was in touch during her last days.
A list of these people through their IP addresses was made by the police and they were quizzed about the conversations.
Their statements are now being tallied with each other and also with those recorded before the SDM during the initial investigation.
The medical board concluded that Ms. Pushkar’s vital organs like kidney, lungs and liver were functioning normally and that her death was caused by poisoning.
Mr.Bassi had said the fresh reports submitted to them were "inconclusive" and "based on conjecture."
