The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday assured security personnel that it would implement measures to simplify the voting process for them.

The Commission – Chief Election Commissioner Navin Chawla and Election Commissioners S.Y. Quraishi and V.S. Sampath – which was visiting the forward areas of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir to meet personnel deployed along the Line of Control, gave this assurance when the troops expressed difficulties in exercising their franchise.

They also interacted with the personnel in the Uri sector. Postal ballot, proxy voting and the issue of Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) were some of the subjects discussed.
