While talking about her outlet, she also outlines her fashion checklist and her career. Although Arya has the figure and the confidence to carry almost all kinds of clothes, she says in the recent past, she has taken a liking for saris, especially Benarasi silk. “A woman looks her best in a sari! So I enjoy flaunting my sari collection. I usually dress according to the occasion. What matters is that I should feel comfortable in whatever I wear. I don’t compromise on that.”

Style check

The pretty woman insists she does not like make-up, but being a celebrity, she does make an effort to look presentable. “Nowadays, I always wear lipstick if I step out. That’s one thing you will always find in my bag. I have quite a big collection of lipsticks. All thanks to Bhavana. While working in

“I learnt from her that applying lipstick could change your look completely.”

Juggling many roles

Multi-tasking, she says, is tough. In addition to Badai Bungalow , she hosts Marakkatha Swadu , a cookery show on Flowers TV. She has also been working in films. The latest was Punyalan Private Ltd , in which she played a journalist. “Also, I am hosting award functions. What is sad is that I am missing out on spending time with my daughter and parents. I don’t get enough sleep too! But then it is all for the family. I was devastated when my father fell ill and that was when I realised that I would have to save enough to take care of my dear ones. So I better do that when I am in the limelight. After all being a celebrity is not something permanent, right?”

On Aroya - by Arya and its collection

“It is a dream come true. I have been planning to open a boutique of my own for many years. Roya is my six-year-old daughter. We focus on customised clothing, be it casual dresses, designer wear, bridal wear, saris or kids’ clothing. There is an impression that boutiques sell only high-end clothing. We want to show our customers that fashion is affordable.”

The boutique has design consultants who interact with the customers and have a stitching unit as well, she adds. “The colour of 2018 is ultra violet and we plan to showcase our UV collection.”
