Here’s a place where you can leave your kids while you do your purchasing

Shopping with kids has always been a problem for urban couples. With kids understanding very well that once they have entered a shop, their parents will fulfil their weirdest wishes, just to stop them crying and be allowed to shop peacefully, now that malls are a part of our lives, the possibilities are only greater.

Whenever I carry my kid and walk around, I always wish someone would — and wondered why these mall builders can’t — come up with a kids’ section where they can play as well as learn and have a good time. Apparently having been listening, Bird Hospitality Services, the hospitality arm of Bird Group, has introduced a new entertainment concept for kids between three and 10 years, called “Club Fledge”.

Located on the sixth floor of Ambience Mall Gurgaon, Club Fledge is spread over 1,600 square feet.

Couching it in today’s jargon, Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group, describes it as “a contemporary, urban recreation and learning facility.”

The areais designed taking into account the requirements of children. Decorated in vibrant colours, it contains a synthetic ice rink where trainers are present to oversee the children’s efforts. Besides, there are activities like computer tasks, do-it-yourself projects, games, storytelling, movie screenings and video games. There is also a library stocked with educational tools, activity books, puzzles and colouring sheets.

Making it a one-stop kids’ care solution, the club also provides meals and even has a medical room.
