Sauce for the goose

Our discovery this week is the new and saucy webzine The Ladies Finger! A bunch of young writers (Nisha Susan, Jugal Mody…) present their irreverent and snarky take on issues across a range of topics — Pop culture, health, fun, music, books and cinema. As they indicate they are not squeamish. Vomit, rebellion, where women can pee, the Bechdel test, the new Amar Chitra Katha on MS Subbulakshmi, infidelity, and working late — it’s all there. You might get lost in the navigational jungle a bit, but on a rainy afternoon that really isn’t a bother. We loved the feature on the ubiquitous Malayali nurse, and the excellent piece on forgotten tawaif singers Rasoolan Bai and Zohra, with audio links (yes!) gave us goose bumps.
