We all know that making a film is about acquiring dates and setting up a combination of artistes. In this film, name any popular actor and you will find him here. From star comedians Brahmanandam and Ali to Saptagiri, Vennela Rama Rao, Shakalaka Shankar etc. plus reasonably well known technicians like Anup Reubens, Rasool Ellore and Praveen Pudi. So the director ensures he has a crew and money but without a proper story and plot development. The intention is clear: Have a routine story and showcase the skills of the lead actor; but Nag Anvesh impresses only with his dances.
Nag Anvesh has ample energy levels and the spirit to act. The heroine’s nail colour and bright lipstick holds more attention than her acting skills.
The hero Chanti (Nag Anvesh) grows up with Janaki (Kruthika). His father Naresh works for Chowdary (Prakash Raj). Chanti is besotted by Janaki and he proposes to her but she isn’t interested and a few comedians kidnap her while she is getting ready to get married and they drive both of them to what is suuposed to be Kerala, but looks so much like Hyderabad. The rest of the story is about how Janaki’s family hunts for her and how Chanti is beaten and he goes away from the village. The film ends with Chowdary giving his consent to the alliance. It is ridiculous how the girl doesn’t show a trace of emotion for the hero but then spends a few years of her life not talking to her father just because he separated them. Why she falls for him suddenly is not at all clear.
There is no heroism in the story and we feel no empathy for the hero who gets hit and spills out blood. The worst part is the climax which reminds us of Bommarillu, the first part takes us to Gangotri and the rest to another recently released film. The dubbing of the heroine differs in parts, the climax is very dramatic and Anup Reubens music, background score tries to heighten the emotional quotient but the whole thing appears silly. Even Tulasi overdoes her bit and none are normal. The episode that takes place in Hema and Chalapati Rao’s home is another joke. There are too many songs and meaningless unconvincing fights.
The only saving grace is Brahmanandam and his dialogues. On one occasion he goes to a stall and asks for a matchbox, the shopkeeper says he has a lighter. The comedian retorts “Ileana dorakaledani Sunny Leone kosam settle ayye character kadhu nadhi (My character is not one that will settle for Sunny Leone because I haven’t found Ileana).” There are many gems like this that don’t necessarily make sense.
