Here are some summer cocktails you can try at home

Bellini Manhattan

As the heat intensifies once again in the Capital, it’s time to get those cocktail glasses out. Here are recipes of some easy to make cocktails. Although they all incorporate Maker’s Mark, one can use other whiskeys too.

Mint Julep

Ingredients

Fresh mint

2 tbs. simple syrup – muddle with mint

1 & half oz. Maker’s Mark

Splash of distilled water

Powdered sugar

Method : Fill the glass with crushed ice and add Maker’s Mark. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw. Sprinkle top of ice with powdered sugar and garnish with a mint sprig.

The Red Head

Ingredients

1 1/4 oz. Maker’s Mark

Soda water

Splash of cranberry juice

Lime wedge

Method : Fill rocks glass with cubed ice.

Add Maker’s Mark, soda water and a splash of cranberry juice.

Garnish with a lime wedge.

Maker’s Mark Peach Tea

Ingredients

1 oz. Maker’s Mark

1 & half oz. Dekuyper Peach Schnapps Unsweetened iced tea.

Method : Fill the glass with ice. Add Maker’s Mark and peach schnapps. Top off with unsweetened iced tea. Garnish with peach.

Bellini Manhattan

Ingredients

1-1/2 parts Maker’s Mark Bourbon

1/2 part peach puree

3/4 part sweet red vermouth

Dash Liquid Kitchen Golden Era or orange bitters

3/4 part splash brut champagne

Method : Fill a mixing glass with ice. Measure in the Maker’s Mark Bourbon, peach puree and vermouth. Add a dash of bitters. Cap and shake. Strain into large martini glass. Add a splash of champagne. Garnish with gold gilded maraschino cherry on a pick.
