It was a Saturday night with a difference at Mocha on Lavelle Road. The occasion was the launch of the 2012 calendar by Lets Live Together, the Bangalore-based NGO that works with homeless puppies from the street.

The desk selling merchandise including t-shirts, badges, magnets and mugs was thronging with eager buyers.

Amala Akkineni from Hyderabad, who is known for her work with animals, launched the calendar. Amala spoke eloquently for Indian dogs and patiently signed calendars, which were also available for sale. The desktop as well as wall-hanging calendar is dedicated to the female dog and features stunning photos of four gorgeous Indian puppies and heart-warming messages. The calendar “girls” were there in full force. One of them was fast asleep in the arms of an LLT volunteer while the others were looking bright eyed and bushy tailed at all the activity.
