A screen grab of the video

So do you want to travel to see the world or be seen seeing the world? The influx of images on social media has given SNG (SchitzComedy in short) team reason to be back with a bang, with a new theme. This time they are taking a dig at the status of travelling and the aftermath of a holiday.

About a few weeks old, the skits take a dig at holiday goers on their popular trick photos idea, status updates and candid shots.

The video directed by Neville Shah opens with a couple walking into a travel agency and looking for holiday packages. The rates of the premium, deluxe and super deluxe packages are determined by the number of likes, aws, and hearts they earn in social media. The agency also has a status updater and a twitter handler.

The agency organises snorkelling photos for their clients while having their head dipped in a bucket of water and gives a choice of dishes to show off as well, with a suggestion of popular # category. Just that the Chinese dish runs away from the plate and the local maharaj (chef) is desperately looking for it.

The photos and the likes also depend on the choice of destinations and the famous tourist attraction spots.

If the choice is Egypt, the in-thing to do is aim at touching the tip of the pyramid, all one needs to do is stand against a blank backdrop and the rest will be taken care of. Those who love adventure can opt for parasailing as well — just wear helmet, look sideways with eyes wide open. That’s it.

So one gets a picture of parasailing without actually having to fall from a height, get soaked in water or get tired from the holiday.

But can’t this holiday be fixed in a day or two for social media, ‘what does one do with the rest of the days slated for a honey moon’? “Now that we have taken care of all your needs to show off on social media, you can actually go on a real holiday without the stress of needing to find wi-fi signals for updates,” replies the manager of the holiday package maker.

Karan Talwar of SNG says the idea of the video was to remind of real holidays, “Without the stress and the need to hang on to electronic devices and search for wifi.”
