Mangalagiri Aditya Prasad, after becoming the Station Director of Akashvani, Vijayawada, in December 2004 earned himself a good reputation from all sections of people for his dedicated services to the Akashvani kendra. Being a noted musician himself and an innovative composer, he produced a large number of musical features and radio programmes that brought radio closer to the people in its post-idiot box expansion era.
Aditya Prasad amply succeeded in taking the much-neglected radio to even rural population in the Vijayawada Station Zone comprising five central coastal districts. Aditya Prasad's services were much appreciated by all and he received many awards and accolades for his relentless and dedicated service to make the radio programmes interesting and educative.
Aditya Prasad is a great fan of the legendary singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao He even did research on the singer revealing several new facets of Ghantasala's style of singing. To bid a warm farewell to him on his transfer to Hyderabad Akashvani as its Zonal Station Director, a colourful function was set up on the premises of G.V.R. Government College of Music and Dance, Vijayawada.

Singers Gudipati Harikrishna, Mangalagiri Aditya Prasad himself, K. Durga Nagamani and Stalin Babu rendered several songs of Gahantasala and Bhanumathi with the aid of a fine orchestra consisting of Ravi (key board), Chittibabu (tabla), Santaram (flute) and Ramana (pads).
