Known for his vivacious ways and intelligent repartees as a MTV veejay and the host of “Indian Idol”, Mini Mathur has won the hearts of fans with her wit and spontaneity. Somebody who prefers to go unscripted, Mini does not like to discuss much before the shoot because she feels that way the reality shows lose their realistic touch.
After a break, she is now coming back with a new show “Wife Bina Life” on Star Plus. Excerpts from an interview:

It all started with a show called “Tol Mol Ke Bol”. Initially, I thought I would do a show and would take a break. But by God's grace shows started coming and I started liking it and the rest is history. I always had one thing clear in my mind that I didn't want to do any daily soaps. I love my job as an anchor. And I would describe the journey as fantastic in fact “Funtastic” is the apt word to describe it.
What made you take the reality show “Wife Bina Life”?
I like to experiment. This show is clean entertainment without any screams, fights and backstabbing. I picked this show because I liked it from the moment it was narrated to me. When I was explained the concept of the show, I had a big smile on my face. And I was sure that all the Indian wives will love this show.

Tell us a little bit about the format
It is a light and funny show. The whole concept is very new and experimental. In the show wives are sent out of their houses and on the other hand husbands are made to do all the petty things which they consider very easy in the presence of their wives. It will surely create a sense of value among husbands towards their wives.
You understand the world behind the camera and your husband Kabir Khan (directed ‘New York') is also a producer-director. So can we expect some collaboration in future?
No doubt, Kabir is my support. But, we both prefer to keep profession and relationship separate. Hence there isn't any collaboration on the cards.
What are your plans?
Mostly, I don't do shows back to back. But a concept which is different and deserves my time would surely catch my attention. However, this year I am also embracing a new dimension. I am doing a film with John Abraham directed by Kapil Sharma. It is a strong cameo.
