Gateway fest 2012 organised by the Department of Media Sciences, Anna University, was a contrast to the usual symposiums, having the right proportion of infotainment.

Starting off with the screening of short films at the PVR Cinemas, followed by Ad films, Animation films and Psa's classified under various categories, the big shots of the film industry, directors Prabhu Solomon and Balaji Mohan, editor Antony and cinematographer Om Prakash were highly impressed with the entries.

“Wanna be RJ” was one event that created an electrifying atmosphere in the auditorium. The audience erupted in laughter when “M.Sc Rascals” competed against the team from SRM during the Film Spoofing event.
The valedictory function began with the screening of those short films that couldn't make it to the PVR.

Finally arrived the long-awaited moment — the Gateway Awards 2012, with Loyola College walking away with the best short film for “Daddy” and SRM University winning the Best Ad film award for their vacuum cleaner ad. Jay Vijay from the Department of Media Sciences won the award for best editing for the short film “Ghost”. Among the other short films, “Pannaiyaaramum Padminiyum” and “Sathish Chandrasekaran BE MBA” which left an imprint on the minds of people, were also honoured with awards.
Gatewaaay DMS Gatewaaay , the song composed for Gateway played at the close of the event marked the success of the event. For those who missed it this year, Gateway 2013 awaits you!
