What I learnt from a stranger at a restaurant…

Share what you can...

One morning, my friends and I went to a famous fast food restaurant. We placed our order and were served the food within minutes. While eating, we started sharing stories on what had transpired that month.

Then, we noticed a well-dressed, smart-looking man, come in along with a shabby, shirtless small boy. I started observing them. This young man and the boy took their place in the middle of the restaurant and everybody at the was looking at the pair.

Then the young man placed the order and then they both started eating. I went up to the young man and asked him, what was going on? He smiled and replied, “I just graduated and was recruited into an IT company last month. I wished to buy a poor person a meal with my first salary and thus when I got my first salary, I’ve made my wish come true.”

I was surprised and overwhelmed by his response. I realised that there was a lesson on sharing to be learnt from this young man. Imagine, if all of us did that.
