Mysskin, Ram laud short filmmakers

“Good cinema will impact, refine and change the mindset of the audience significantly,” said director Mysskin, sharing his wisdom with the participants of the Short Film Fest 2015 at PVR Cinemas, Ampa Skywalk.

Organised by This and That Entertainment, a modern-day creative agency, the final screening at the festival was attended by the Pisasu filmmaker and director Ram. The members of the jury, who selected the best among 190-plus entries, included director Badri, veteran actors Viji Chandrasekhar, Abhishek Shankar and art director Amaran. “This is an award to celebrate and motivate all aspiring filmmakers,” said Viji Chandrasekhar.

“Short filmmaking is the most democratic genre,” announced director Ram, heaping praise on the winning film,

Mayirizhai , by J. Ramanujam. Mysskin admitted that he envied the freedom of these young directors, who had no need to fear the censor board, producers, distributors or even the audience.
