I do not smoke nor do I drink. I am a vegetarian but yes, I do take eggs. In today's world one needs to be healthy, physically as well as mentally, to fight a competitive life. The profession we are in is specially very competitive, very stressful, so we need to de-stress ourselves and the best way to do so is by working out, eating good food so that you do not have to get into a crash diet and can concentrate better on your work.

I do workout once a day but do not push myself too much into it. It is not less than an hour but there is no fixed time for it. Recently, I have been a bit irregular because I have been busy shooting, and travelling a lot but try and do my workout no matter whichhotel I am staying in.

Back home, I go to a nearby gym. Post exercise, I take a glass of juice which my wrestler boyfriend suggests. I also swim a lot as it is a very good exercise and the Mumbai weather permits you to swim the whole year.

I am not a foodie, but diet is a very important thing for staying fit and one must not starve and diet. So I take healthy food. I am in Delhi for sometime and the food here is awesome.I can't resist it and as a result, have put some 3-4 kgs which I am definitely going to shed once I reach Mumbai. I will have to take to some serious workouts. I feel staying fit gives you that extra confidence. It has become a necessity for everyone, it is no more a luxury. So stay fit and move ahead in life.

(Payal was in New Delhi for the promotion of her film Valentine's Night with her co-star Sangram Singh. The film released this week.)
