The fashion industry is full of dreams. And brands like Myntra is doing a lot in guiding designers to realise their dream. Harleen Kaur and Rajesh Marathe, part of Myntra incubator programme, are taking a lot of intentional steps to make it big in the fashion industry.

Founded in January 2015, Myntra is an initiative for any fashion retailer/brand in India to support entrepreneurship in the business of fashion.

“When you look at my individual design, it has influences from the past. Apart from working on fine details, I spend a lot of time understanding the fabric. I have tried to create a balance by reviving tradition with a tinge of modernity in it,” says Harleen.

With her desire to deliver the best in terms of design, she plans to collaborate with other companies as well, laying the focus on maintaining the functionality and modernity of today’s times.

According to them, the Myntra brand provides them with a platform to showcase their talent and backed them with the support of fashion experts Rahul Mishra, Kallol Datta and Rohit Gandhi. “With their experience in the global market, they have given us new designers an idea of the preference of the Indian market,” says Harleen.

On asking Rajesh about his experience, he says: “I am focused in making the history of our country more accessible and glorify it through my designs. With no idea about fashion but a firm belief that I can carve a niche for myself, I started working to achieve that dream.”
