Glitzy and classy display

Rewania at Banjara Hills throbbed to scintillating music as designers Ganesh Nallari and Shilpa Reddy's clothesline went on a display where the chic and ethnic teemed the traditional and striking wedding collection.

Shilpa's was the elite zardosi embellishing the deep hues of crepe fabric both western and Indian. It had to be deep blues, bright reds and of course the inevitable black. The kurta outfits were matched to leggings that would bring out the contours of a lovely pair of long limbs. The sari round followed with crepe and net dominating even as Shilpa, an ex-model herself walked the ramp much to the delight of her clientele.

It had to be ‘exclusive' to be Nallari creation. And exotic of course! There was a range to choose from — the western with a touch of the ikkat and pure silk, the traditional lehenga-vodni with stunning blouses in silk and the sari brigade which took the breath away.

The wedding collection had the half-sari look-alikes in gossamer sprinkled with traditional zari work, the net fabric fashioned to fit a hour-glass figure, the geometric design and embroidered florals dominating the pure silks in lovely shaded greens and golden hues. The trellis zari work and brocaded lehenga-vodni (dupatta) outshone everything else. The designers are going retail — so look out for fabulous fabric and demure patterns! Vijayanand Jewellers's accessories were mind-boggling.
