As part of ‘b for Change’ campaign launched by Bindass channel, an event was held recently in the Capital to felicitate some of the young change makers who have contributed to bring about a change in the society. Actor Abhay Deol was present on the occasion to felicitate Alisha Sharma who started ‘Chappal marungi’ campaign, Shreeya Parekh for her blog ‘Green Living’, Rashi Anand for ‘Lakshyam’ and Mishika Singh of ‘Besharmi Morcha’ fame. While felicitating those change makers Abhay Deol said, “It is pleasure to meet and honour these youngsters today. The time is absolutely right to present youngsters with a platform like ‘b for change’ which will encourage and inspire them to bring about a change and not just talk about it.” As an extension of the campaign, channel has launched its website bforchange.com which is a platform for youngsters to put their thoughts into action. Under the umbrella of the campaign, presently bindass airs two shows, Halla Bol and the second Change Aayega Hum Laayenge hosted by Karan Tacker and Gurpreet Saini respectively. The campaign will address a multitude of issues like corruption, education, unemployment, woman safety through different shows and initiative.
As youth is central to this campaign, Indrajit Ray, Executive Director-Content, Media Networks, Disney India, said, “India is slated to be the youngest country in the world in the next couple of years. And youth of our country are brimming with positive energy evident in the self motivated actions taken by youngsters like Alisha, Shreeya, Rashi and Mishika.” Abhay adds, “This concept instantly connected with me, as I believe that I too have done things differently in many ways whether it’s my career or personal life”.
