A day with one’s childhood hero is every kid’s dream, especially for the current generation where television is an integral part of their lives. In the age of Pokemon, Shinchan and Doremon, our very own Chota Bheem (a popular animation series named after the mythological character from Mahabharata ) has carved a special place in every child’s heart.
Apart from watching Chota Bheem on-screen, these over-excited children from Butterflies, an NGO, celebrated their hero’s birthday with fun and frolic. Amidst the entire extravaganza created by these animated characters, the kids danced, sang and played games at Stratford University in the Capital recently.
With Chota Bheem’s much-awaited arrival in the room along with Chutki, his friend in the series, the 100 innocent kids beamed with joy. It seemed as if even the adults present at the venue were reliving their childhood.

Like always, the best is usually kept for the last. The children were in for another surprise when their hero played cricket with them. It was hard to control the over-enthusiastic and happy kids as they waited for their turn to share the fun!
Krishna Desai of Turner International said, “It has brought us joy to see the faces of these kids light up when they met Chota Bheem and Chutki. This birthday celebration is one of the biggest events this year for Pogo, which has been aiming at giving kids the ultimate experience by keeping them entertained through various activities on TV and beyond.”
Rita Panicker, director, Butterflies, expressed her delight saying, “We are happy to host Chota Bheem’s birthday in this city. Our aim is primarily to instil some of the values that the character personifies on-screen like bravery, honesty, humility and helpfulness.”
