Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor sings praises of their working relationship

POLICE STORY TOO Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor

With over-the-top fight sequences, peppy dialogues and larger than life characters, Singham was a smash hit. As always, the success of the film spawned a sequel, Singham Returns. In the city to promote the film, Ajay Devgn said: “I was told by people across the country that they enjoyed Singham and wanted more. Though the basic theme is the same, there are differences in the story from the Tamil film. We enjoyed working on the film.”

Kareena Kapoor, who plays the female lead in the film says, “It was good working with Ajay; he is a prankster on the set. We have been part of many successful movies. We share a good working relationship.”

Ajay adds, “Apart from the chemistry we share on screen, I think the director plays a very important role in nurturing it and showing it on the big screen.”

On whether expensive fight sequences contribute to the success of a movie, Ajay says, “It is an expression of creativity. It is dependent on the script. It is important to have a good story to keep the audience engaged.”

He adds, “ Singham Returns is not a movie with a message. It is action packed and we hope that the audiences are entertained. It has more drama and more real. An anti-corruption thread runs through the movie.”

On women in action movies, Kareena says, “I cannot see myself in a full on action movie. I am more comfortable with normal roles. I do not see myself in a Lady Singham.” Commenting on the much talked about auto rickshaw scene, the doe-eyed actor says she enjoyed riding it. “I was terrified initially, but enjoyed it a lot.”
