This 11-year-old loves to scorch the track, often racing at a breakneck 100 km per hour and speed thrills him. Meet Yash Aradhya, one of the brightest karting prospects in the country.
He successfully defended the Micro Max title, at the MMS Rotax Max National Karting Open recently. Yash maintained consistent lap time and displayed skilful race craft .
The championship was a two round event, with five races in each round and ten laps in each race.

Yash showed the maturity of a seasoned driver throughout the event.
He set a championship record by winning nine out of 10 races. “He is patient, calm and puts in lot of work,” says his father, Sujit Aradhya.
Yash took up Karting only a couple of years ago and bagged the rookie title in 2012 and National Micro Max in 2013.

He is being mentored by Indian motorsports guru Akbar Ebrahim and trains at his academy.
In a sport like karting, fitness also plays a key role. Yash admits his fitness was key to success made the difference at Hyderabad. “The track was tricky and hitting high speeds of 80 to 100 km and negotiating turns, needed lot of control.” Yash is competing at the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship India 2014.
He is also participating in Rotax Max Asia Challenge 2014 and after two rounds is placed at no. 5 position in the overall leader board. With three more rounds left to go, he hopes to claim the Asian title too.
At the Asian Rotax, Yash admits that he was nervous . “I just had a day or two to get accustomed to the conditions. I am happy that I was able to put up a good show.”
Though karting plays a larger than life role in his career, Yash is another kid on the block, who enjoys swimming and watching cartoons.
