The new Peugeot 508 is scheduled to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, replacing the 407 and 607 model range. It features the French car maker’s new design language with a sharply-contoured bonnet and the lion badge positioned centrally above the radiator grille.

The coupe-shaped roof line stretches all the way to the rear where three-dimensional taillights surround the flanks.

Apart from the 508 sedan version, Peugeot is also planning to unveil in Paris the 508 SW station wagon which is some two centimetres longer than the sedan at 4.81 metres.

When the new model range becomes available in European showrooms early next year customers will be able to order engine variations including start-stop systems. Peugeot is planning to launch a diesel hybrid version at a later stage with an output of 200 hp and a carbon dioxide emission figure of only 99 grammes per kilometre.

The European version of the 508 will be built in France with an adapted version of the sedan planned for the Chinese market.
