It is not often that a chef gives away his signature recipes to a group of people he has met for the first time. However, things were different at WelcomHotel Grand Bay as Executive Chef T. Suresh conducted a master class for a group of 50 women as part of an initiative taken by Make a Difference (MAD) an organization that helps educate underprivileged children in the city. Titled December Deserts, Chef Suresh demonstrated how to cook three of his most popular deserts—Apple Pie, Coconut and Orange Crepe and a Christmas Pudding.

It was an interactive demonstration with the chef calling members from the audience to come help him with mixing and stirring.

He also gave a number of valuable tips that no recipe book offers. The students for the day were a mix of housewives looking to add to their repertoire as well as college students looking to pick up a trick or two. The college students burnt a couple of crepes before getting it right but the housewives got it right in the first attempt itself. The registration fee that MAD charged will go towards funding their teaching activities at Papa Home and Abode of Peace. The funds raised will benefit 110 underprivileged children.
