Beach Villa Restro offers you with some great dishes at affordable prices in a stylish ambience

The menu offers you continental, Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Bang on Gubbi Cross, on Hennur-Bagalur Main Road, a new restaurant has come up. Called Beach Villa Restro, it offers a perfect dining experience in a very stylish yet rustic ambience. Right from the antique lamps hanging off wooden trees, an old gramophone and a grand-father clock all artistically placed at entrance, the place transports you into another world. This cosy eat out is on the premise of Agon Club and is called Beach Villa Restro.

Inside, a lush green lawn with stylish iron dining tables welcomes you. But, if you are not an outdoor person you can choose to eat either on the rooftop or the ground floor dining area. We chose the last option.

The place is started by Satyajit Ghosh, a foodie and an ardent traveller. “I did not want to have place where people rush in and rush out. I wanted to provide a place where families come in, spend quality time and make every dining out an experience to remember.”

Ghosh adds that he deliberately chose the ambience to resemble a rustic villa as he is “infatuated” with that look. And true to his word the place does have a rustic look with a lot of brown wood work and huge glass windows.

The menu offers you continental, Indian and Chinese cuisine. So we opt for one dish from each section. As we are soaking in the ambience, our steaming soup arrives. Called chicken manchow soup, it is a combination of shredded chicken and mushrooms with crispy noodles that go crunch with every bite.

Then it was the Beach Villa Special, a boneless chicken sheekh kebab, marinated in Indian spices, and tossed in Chinese sauces. The fusion of the flavours is a hit.

For the main course there was mutton rogan josh and dhaniya chicken. These went perfectly well with the naans. The naans are really soft and not chewy at all. “We use a lot of milk and a special mix of dough,” adds Ghosh.

He beams as he presents his innovation — prawn malai curry. Served in a tender coconut and the prawns are cooked in spices with the cream of the coconut, explains the Ghosh, who also has a “passion for cooking.”

The food is not heavy on your stomach nor is it too spicy or oily. It is worth a visit and as Ghosh says “once you visit, it is our mission to lure you back.”

Beach Villa Restro is open from 12 noon to 11 p.m. and also offers a special menu for health freaks. It also provides home delivery for a minimum order of Rs. 300 and a distance of four kilo metre radius. The restaurant can be contacted at 9742622111.
