Imagine enjoying a quiet evening on the terrace of a fifth floor listening to music played by a DJ in the background. When you feel hungry, you can choose between a Continental and Tandoori platter with cocktails and mocktails too. The ‘The Terrace’ opposite Cyber Pearl in Hitech city is the latest lounge for those looking for a relaxed fun outing with friends. Launched by the Tabla group, the lounge scores because of its location in bustling Madhapur area and for most of the software professionals working in different IT companies here, the place is within walking distance. “We hope to cater to everyone, besides the IT crowd. Recently, we had finalists of a salsa competition performing here and we also had a family celebrating an anniversary. This is for all those looking for a place to enjoy good food and ambience,” says Praveen Kumar, the manager.
The 70-seater lounge has the bar counter in the centre, opposite the DJ’s workstation, with sofas, tables and chairs spread out all around. The ceiling is closed on one side and the remaining is covered with glass and some part of it is left open too. In this corner of the lounge, one can enjoy the view as a breeze caresses your cheeks. If white is the dominant colour on chairs and sofas; black and red throw in a dash of colour. In the evenings, the blue LED lights create a royal spectrum. At the entrance are the white couches to sink in and bar stools to perch on. The music is rock, jazz and Hiphop and even Bollywood numbers like Gandi baat do the rounds as in-house DJ Heel and Amar spin the discs. If you are keen on shaking your leg to music, the small area can also be transformed into a dance floor. However, watch out as the space is not much to exhibit your dancing skills.
Foodwise, it’s a medley of Continental and Tandoori delicacies to select from. Vegetarians can choose from cream of broccoli jupthi soup and minestrone soup. If you are a prawn lover, try out prawn ograi soup or roasted prawns margarita soup. Veg mini basket with its corn filling was quite spicy. Mangolian grilled fish is for the sea food lovers. One can also try out their combo options. In main course, you have lamb ala king jostling for space with pastas, nachos, sizzlers and dishes like Mongolian chicken curry laced with cashews, fish steak flavoured with lemon butter sauce or for some fiery taste, try black pepper prawns. Save the best for the last; with desserts like litchi gulal, apricot delight or chocolate volcano for chocoholics. There are a host of cocktails and mocktails to choose from too.
