Bridal Asia recently presented the wedding collection of designers Anupama Dayal and Dev & Nil. On an evening of fashion, Bridal Asia CEO Divya Gurwara and yoga exponent Nishi Singh introduced “Bronze Begum” by Anupama and “Naya/Nutan” from Dev and Nil to fashion enthusiasts at Veda, DLF Promenade.
For the designers, it was a much-anticipated foray into bridal wear. “It is always a pleasure to bring designers from different cities to the fore and showcase their designs to the discerning Delhi audience. Bridal Asia is like a mixture of old and new designers,” said Divya.
Anupama,famous for textured clothes, is now dabbling with textures best meant for the bride. “Bronze Begum” is meant to complement her “Anupama” style, and be a perfect balance of the traditional and the modern. She has extensively mixed and matched her line in terms of colour, fabric and embellishments. Her creations included a lime green kurta with emerald green sharara and though both were of different shades they complemented each other well. Another garment was a typical lehenga embroidered with Swarovski crystals and peacock motifs and the “latkan” simply enhanced the dress.

“I will showcase not only lehengas and saris for the bride, in fact, I have tried my hand on various other things like shararas, anarkalis and gharara also,” said Anupama, who plans to foray into kid's and men's wear too.
On the other hand, couturiers Dev & Nil from Kolkata tried to bring an old world charm to their collection. Through their foray with Bridal Asia, they now intend to cater to the North Indian market. The duo's collection was rich in the array of fabrics like chanderi, muga, khadi, Banaras silk to net cotton. “Nutan is a Bengali word which means new, it is a collection of old Bengali ideas packaged in a new format, in our bride we will be showing the sophistication of the old world lady,” said the designers. They have also designed clothes for the movie I Am .
