Your bi-weekly dose of apps to help you stay fit.

Choose the one that suits you.

We all have a million excuses for not going to the gym. But, as most gym fanatics will explain in scandalised tones, we need to have a personal trainer overseeing our amateur huffing and puffing if we are to survive exercise unscathed.

Fitnet lets you be your own personal trainer and figure out where you’re going wrong (and if you are an exercise rookie, trust me, you most definitely are going wrong somewhere). The app has more than 180 exercise videos with ‘webcam scoring’. That means the app lets you use your camera to check how well (or not) you’re following the virtual trainer’s instructions. The app gives you realtime feedback so you can improve and learn with precision by converting your camera to a biometric sensor. There are different kinds of workouts to suit your mind and needs — cardio, strength, yoga, Tai chi, et al.

You can formulate a seven-day plan, include weekly goals, even if you only have time for a quick five-minute workout. There is also the option to connect with your virtual trainer for tips and help.
