A workshop on creating effective lyrics by Madhan Karky at The Hindu Lit for Life 2015.

Lyric Engineering is a process of applying scientific and mathematical principles for creating effective lyrics. The workshop will introduce tools to analyse lyrics and discuss Lyric Engineering topics such as Word statistics, Lyric feature extraction, Pleasantness, Lyricist modelling, Freshness of lyric, Lyric visualisation, Lyricist visualisation, Genre classification, Lyric Net, Concept similarities, Co-occurrence study, Rhyme analysis, Simile & Metaphor analysis. 

Note: Those registering for the workshop must bring their own laptops.

MADHAN KARKY completed his Bachelors in Computer Science in College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in 2001. He completed his Masters and Ph.D. in Information Technology in the University of Queensland, Australia. He worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Anna University between 2009 and 2013. He has published numerous papers and research articles on Tamil Computing. Lyric Engineering is his pet area of research. Karky began his lyric writing career with director Shankar’s
